Living Harmoniously with Nature
Living in Harmony with Nature
No TV Our home is designed to embrace the natural climate and beauty of Lake Atitlán. We do not provide TVs or air conditioning — we encourage our guests to disconnect from digital distractions and immerse themselves in the lake’s tranquil surroundings.
No Air Conditioning Needed Lake Atitlán enjoys a naturally perfect climate year-round — warm days and cool evenings with a constant lake breeze. No heating or air conditioning is necessary. If you would like extra airflow, we are happy to provide a fan.
Open Living Doors, and windows stay open year-round, welcoming the lake breeze and the sounds of nature throughout the day.
Starry Nights We turn off our lights after 10:00 — both to offer an unobstructed view of the stars and to respect the environment and reduce light pollution.
The Lake as Your Bath The lake is our most expansive and healing space. We invite you to swim in its waters, especially after a session in our wood-burning sauna with a direct jump into the lake. Solar and gas-heated showers are available, but the lake is an experience of its own.
Power & Connectivity Power outages happen occasionally — and we welcome them as moments of true stillness and reflection. To conserve energy, we use warm yellow LED lighting throughout the property. We kindly ask all guests to turn off lights when not in use, inside and out. Partially we run on solar power.
Sustainable Consciousness We do not use chemical sprays or pesticides of any kind. To prevent insects naturally, we ask that no food be brought into the rooms — all food is stored in our communal beach kitchen. All top small windows are fitted with screens, so you can keep them open freely for natural airflow. We recommend closing your door and windows at night or when leaving the room to keep insects out.
Room Care We are happy to clean your room daily — just let us know, as not everyone wishes for daily visits. For anything in between — fresh towels, garbage collection, water refill, or anything else — simply text us and we will be there.
We kindly ask all guests to turn off lights inside and outside when preparing for rest. Let’s begin today by respecting the land and embracing a more mindful way of living.
